ARGs

There are plans afoot

Over on the Perplex City "We Love Puzzles" forum (and then also on the UnFiction forum), there are plans to celebrate the first anniversary of Finding Of The Cube by sending cubes to Mind Candy.

Surprise present

I got a surprise package in the post today. When I opened it, I discovered it contained a signed proof copy of First Among Sequels, a signed postcard of a Juristech narrative proximity device, and a little message saying thanks for my trekking after books. I've put some photos on my Flickr.

A ffinal Ffordian ffarewell

We've had a final goodbye from June Haversham:

Quote:
Hello Ffordian Friends

I must start by saying sorry for how brief this is and how I have not been in touch. I passed my assessment (yay!) and was shunted into the backdrop of another publishers, fictional this time (can you guess which one?) Swindon is a distant memory now that I am capitalised, like another country. But I still remember you all fondly as the best friends a generic publishing assistant ever had. I don't have much time to fill you in - we don't get lunchbreaks here due to narrative assumption - so - very quickly...

We saved literature!

Spent the day in Swindon, trying to stop the ffake Ffforde erasing all literature. We managed it in the end, and PuzzledPinapple from Unfiction has posted a good write up of the day here.

Books everywhere!

So, on Saturday I did go up to London. I met up with another player (known to me only as Fridge - he seemed a perfectly nice chap), and we wandered round and round and round Foyles looking for books. An edited version of my report of the day, as posted on UnFiction:

Quote:
I went up to London today and met up with Fridge. We both took some photos and I've put mine up on Flickr.

I have spent hours and hours walking round that shop scanning shelves for oddities. I have a feeling I'll be dreaming books tonight!

Ffordian ARG

There seems to be a Jasper Fforde-related ARG getting under way, presumably to tie in with the launch of First Among Sequels on July 5th. Last week I got an email from an Amy Greenford, directing me to her blog at http://amygreenford.blogspot.com/. I know at least one other person got contacted, though that was a friend request on MySpace.
The blog outlines an odd event where two people (a shabby bride and groom) appeared when Amy picked a book up off the floor - she works in a bookshop in London. Some weirdness ensued, and she wants help in finding them.

Moving my revolution

I've set up a proper blog for Choose Your Revolution, which can be found at http://myf13.wordpress.com/

I'll try to remember to post things on here as well, but it'll be best if you check that first.

The link between the keys

The Choose Your Revolution page we found with the first set of clues said to post why we thought the keys were important.

Upper-Class Women from Slovenia

That peculiar phrase is my key for Choose Your Revolution.

I can't tell you how it will start - it already has. The creator of that site has, just by getting people like me to sign up, already got it under way. People have been signing up over the last couple of days.

ARG and game update

The trouble with ARGs and things as that there are always games beginning and games ending. It gets difficult trying to keep up with them all.

The ones I posted about in my last summary of what I was following have either ended or stalled (or in the case of Perplex City, gone tits up in a major way).
